The Best Thin Crust Pizza Recipe

I've done it everyone. Created the all time best pizza ever. I'm thinking about opening up a restaurant serving these and changing the world. Well, maybe not that far, but, this recipe has become my go to dinner for serving guests. At first, I was a bit embarrassed to have people over for pizza, but, I promise, each time they have raved and Frank and I have now made this our routine Friday night dinner. It honestly is that good and so easy!

Best Thin Crust Pizza Dough Recipe
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
Only four ingredients! First, preheat your oven to 500 degree. Hot, I know. Then dissolve the yeast in a bowl with the warm water. In a separate larger bowl, mix together the salt and flour. Add the water/yeast and stir with a wooden spoon. Then knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes or so. Split into two halves and cover with a towel while you prepare the toppings (5-10 minutes).

Roll out one dough ball on parchment paper that has been floured as thin as you possibly can. Then roll it out some more. You want this crust to be paper thin, so put some force into it. Place the pizza on a pizza pan or stone and place in the oven for just a few minutes. The crust will get all nice and puffy with bubbles. Perfect. Take out and add the toppings.

Toppings for the Best Thin Crust Pizza

So, you really can add just about anything you love, but this combo is simply amazing if you have these ingredients on hand.
  •  Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Tomato Sauce
  • Grated Mozzarella Cheese
  • Feta Cheese
  • Goat Cheese
  • Thinly sliced carrots
  • Tiny chopped up broccoli
  • Chopped Fresh Baby Spinach leaves
  • Cooked Bacon Strips crumbled up
  • Chopped up tomatoes
  • Tiny diced peppers
  • Black Beans
  • Chopped up green olives
  • Italian Seasoning
First brush olive oil over the puffy pizza dough you just crisped in the oven for 2-4 minutes. Then apply the tomato sauce with a brush. Then add all the ingredients you want on top and spread evenly. Add the Italian seasoning on top, and douse generously. Place in the oven for 6-8 minutes till the crust is crispy and browning. Although you'll be tempted to scarf it down immediately, let is sit just a few minutes or you'll burn your mouth! I should know.

Eat and enjoy! The best pizza you'll ever eat and all done in less than 30 minutes. Beautiful if you ask me. Add a large green salad when guests come over and you've got the perfect party dinner as well.

Note - With the second dough ball, I make a pizza for the kids with just their favorites (beans, bacon, carrots). Its pretty awesome too. They can devour almost the entire pizza together.
